The MeetingTool is a flexible web application written for the purpose of facilitating business meetings during events. It will let you schedule bilateral meetings with other active attendees during the special networking slots throughout the event.

The MeetingTool enables you to keep track of your business goals and start planning your stay well in advance. You can manage a personal profile and, besides getting access to an enhanced attendee list, will also be able to view other participant's availability to facilitate setting up a meeting.

The MeetingTool gives you access to a personal schedule which is based on the available meeting slots for the event. Each slot is 15 or 30 minutes long. An attendee list with search functionality lets you browse other attendees and invite them to a meeting. These meeting requests have to be acknowledged by the invitee and will directly be assigned a location, where the meeting takes place. Locations are usually numbered tables that are specially provided for this purpose by the event host. In case all available locations are booked for a particular slot, getting together is still possible: meetings can also take place at freely chosen alternate locations, such as the hotel bar or lobby.

To further facilitate the process of initiating a meeting, the MeetingTool offers a few enhancements: everyone can access the anonymized schedule of an attendee, which shows only free and busy slots and makes it easier to find a suitable time for both parties, because impossible meetings requests can be avoided. Also, only those free slots that are common to both parties are available in the meeting request form when first requesting a meeting. Once a meeting is initiated and acknowledged, it can be rescheduled or cancelled. Comments enable exchange of information between the attendees, such as an agenda or contact details. As of now, meetings are only possible for exactly two attendees.

Communication takes place through the MeetingTool via email notifications and no email addresses are disclosed to other attendees.Notifications can be disabled so desired. Access to the entire application is secured with a login, complete with functionality for changing and resetting the password. Every attendee can manage a personal profile with an image and, besides the obligatory details, a free form text field for product or company descriptions, or other information.
